Sydney November 2008
Hi,
Here is a great winter Whiting taken from the Georges River in
September. We caught about 20 in one session on live blood worms.
The largest went 46cm, would be about 900g. we got several around
this size. They tasted pretty good.
Keep well, say hi to the rest of the members.

Niall has sent through a couple of photos from his new home.
Been getting out fishing here pics
attached. Thats a pike by the way. The one in the picture is only
a couple of pounds they go up to about 40pounds.
Theres so much water here you could fish a different lake every
day of the year. Thats because it rains all the time, at least 90
out of the last 100 days.
Everything is going well here. I've started work again and Rory
has started school. We're renting a house about 100 meters from
the Shannon in Limerick so I can go fishing in the evenings. How
lucky was that?

Hi,
Here are some photos taken by me earlier today. Fishing in the
Kayak about 1km offshore from Coogee Beach Sydney near Wedding
Cake Island. There were seven of us on the water today.
Caught two Kingfish, about 50 and 53cm long. Also some Sargeant
Baker and a really nice Calamari, all taken spinning/jigging from
the bottom to the surface.
Say hi to all the members for me.

Colin Grenfell - 03 February 2007
Fishing Marlo Estuary I went down
to Marlo for a weekend fishing, didn't take the boat just the
rods and tackle for a bit of surf fishing. The surf was slow so I
decided to try the estuary near the entrance which had closed a
few days earlier here I had immediate response catching 4
trevally in about 5 minutes then the mullet came on the bite.
Talking to some locals I heard that the prawns where running well
at the moment and large catches where to be had, so that evening
I went down with the waders and net to try out my luck, when I
got down there I think there where more people there then prawns
the whole community had decided that a good catch off prawns was
in order, so as the mosquitoes where bad and the estuary was full
with locals I left them to it. So over the weekend I caught many
fish about 25 Silver Travail, 14 Mullet, 8 Tailor and 2
Bream. Because of the success I was having all fish under 30cm I
threw back. So all in all it was a great fishing trip and there
will be many more to come in the Marlo area. I have enclosed some
fish pics I would like to have had more pictures but apparently
my camera was not water proof or so I found out. The enclosed
pictures are a few I caught early in one morning before
breakfast as I was pumping some sandworm.
Cheers
Colin Grenfell
