Incorporated Association Rules

As an Incorporated Association our club operates under the Model Rules, as set out by Consumer Affairs Victoria, which address every item listed in Schedule 1 of the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012.

Members' Handbook

In conjunction with the above Association rules, our members agree to abide by the General Club Rules and By-Laws as set out in our Members' Handbook. This Handbook addresses our General Club Rules and By-Laws in regards to Clubhouse usage, Control of Club Boats, Competition Rules, Angling Rules, etc.

As an example, an extract from our Members' Handbook relating to Competitions follows:

Competitions

Except for surf competitions, anglers may weigh in fish whole, or partly or completely gutted and cleaned.
However no allowance will be made for lost weight in competition points.
If claiming a record fish capture you should weigh your fish whole but this is not compulsory.

* Note fish must been cleaned and gutted for Surf competition weigh-ins.

Minimum lengths for weigh-ins.

SAC Snapper Only Competitions:
Minimum eligible length for weigh-ins is 40 cm.
For all other competitions snapper/pinkies must be a minimum length of 30 cm to be eligible for weigh in.

Extended minimum lengths for Club Competitions:
Australian Salmon 30 cm
Snapper 30 cm
Flathead 30 cm
Whiting (all) 30 cm
Mullet 30 cm
Trout/Salmonoids 30 cm.

Other Club minimum lengths where there is no legal minimum:
All other eligible fish where there is no minimum legal length is 25 cm. (Squid tube length 25 cm).

The following species are not acceptable for competition trophies or record fish captures: All Gurnard, Stingray (including Eagle Ray), Skate, Toad Fish, Cobblers, Porky Pine, Banjo Sharks, Port Jackson Sharks, Elephant Sharks, Parrot Fish (including Blue Nose Wrasse), Eels, European Carp or any protected fish.

The following fish are also ineligible for competition weigh-in but may be submitted for record purposes:
Slimy Mackerel
Yakkas (yellowtail scad)
Rock Cod
